A CONCEPT MAGAZINE
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND
I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Textile Design at the National Institute of Fashion Technology in India, and I eventually realized the lack of clear and concise documentation of our textile history. Sure, there were textbooks, most of which we didn’t use during classes - I found that communicating design was a step higher than the design itself. I realized that I was, in fact, in love with idea generation; creating stories. I was interested in people’s stories.
In a way, India is still stuck in the past and it has become my goal to offer a new outlook into my culture, something that is accessible to designers and artists today without being irrelevant to our traditional beliefs. This is what instigated me to pursue Fashion Journalism at the Academy of Art University. I needed to appease my passion for visual and textual communication and I'm happy to say, I have.
