If it’s the classic holidays in the west, it’s the loud festivals in the east. Come late September, everyone’s getting ready to lash out the most glitzy of glam fashion to celebrate the festive season. No party is complete without the lights, the jewelry and of course, floor length lehengas and streamlined kurtas. And what better way to end the season without a huge wedding?!

Yes, ladies and gentlemen, it’s December already! It’s time to bring out the big bucks to get the perfect dresses to slay this wedding season. But how are you going to make sure you’re going to make heads turn? And, how are you going to find something comfortable enough to enjoy the wedding in. Whether you’re the bride or groom, or attending the occasion, here are a few tips to look effortlessly fashionable and still downright glamorous.

Wintery Pastels –

Avoid vibrant shades this season. You’ll find out that pastel shades are not only restricted to the summer and can definitely be worn during this festive occasion. Be sure to stand out with light fabrics, snowy colors ranging from blush pink, light peaches and white. If you could get your hands on any vintage embroidered lehengas, you’re already ahead of the game!

Floor Sweeping Maxis –

The lesser skin you show, the more people wonder. Emma Watson was wise to hand out that piece of advice for us. Invest in skirts that flow beneath your ankles this month. The fuller the skirt the better! Nehru collared silhouettes with sheer panels is a big win this year and adding one to your wardrobe will make you irresistible to everyone around you.

Say ‘Yes’ to Crop Tops –

Blouses are the most versatile part of a woman’s ensemble when it comes to dressing for the big day. Some like it full-sleeved and some like backless. The list goes on! This season, wedding attire is bending a bit to the contemporary side. Crop Tops are the next big thing to accessorize your sari with.

Go modest this season with boat neck tops and let your sari hang loose a bit, and you have a new fashionable look.

For the Love of Velvet –

Having a wedding outside this year? In a garden, perhaps? But, let’s face it. It will be cold out there. It is winter after all. The best way to enjoy the outdoors while staying warm, and still, every bit regal, is dressing yourself with a little velvet. Why not layer a velvet kurta over a flared skirt? Also, don’t be afraid to opt for flared pants. Add a hint of androgyny to your ensemble and be ready to shock a few people.
